在美国除了在一家公司做职员工作以外，如果想要独立创业或者作为独立承包商，必须有相关执照才有资格向客户收钱，这里没有灰色地带也没有擦边球，有执照才可以收钱，没执照没资格收钱，就这么简单。而拥有了执照就意味着不能说我不懂或我不知道，万一做错了就可能要赔钱或有罚款，甚至有可能要吃官司吊销执照去坐牢的。所以执照非常重要，不可马虎大意。与别人签合约之前也要先确认对方是否真的持有在有效期之内的执照，以免日后的纠纷。
