在這個慶祝與豐收早申成功錄取的季節，許多家長更需要知道的真相是為了名校錄取而長期奮鬥的過程絕不是種盲目的推娃潮流，而是基本的教育選擇，因為除了真正的頂尖名校，許多的學校或許不值得讀。

根據研究統計，在未來的20年內，美國25%的大學會消失！

隨著大學申請越來越競爭, 能否收獲名校錄取焦點成了父母的面子問題, 反而忽略了優質教育對學生一生能產生的助益.   但無論名校控的目的為何, 很少人瞭解, 過去幾年美國有許多大學因為財務困難而選擇與其他大學合併或就直接關閉, 這其中也不乏百年名校.  也就是說你讀的大學如果不夠有競爭力, 可能未來會消失不見.

許多人認爲美國大學的天價學費, 各大學都應該是高盈利。殊不知除去超高的營運成本不談, 美國大學大方發送助學金的作法使得真的以全額票面價註冊的學生只有９％到３５％ , 依各校不定.

公立大學能夠從政府取得部份的預算, 研究型大學有研究經費補助, 名氣大成功校友多的學校還會有送上門的大筆捐款來助學, 這些其實才是辦學的主要財源. 如果只以收學費來搞定學校的開銷, 實際上會蠻難的.
