April of 2010, Chego became the Kogi family’s first sit-down, brick and mortar restaurant. This happy, humble little brother is our LA-in-a-rice bowl spot. Slow roasted prime rib with creamed horseradish? Check. Sticky-sweet slabs of Berkshire pork belly over hot rice and fried egg? Done. A jukebox of feelings and L.A. youth piped in through the speakers? Yes, it bumps.
Chego is nomadic, a gypsy of sorts. We started in the Palms neighborhood then after three years moved to Chinatown and started a boom and after six years are heading back to Palms where you can find us sleeping on the couch of our big bro for now at Kogi Taqueria till we find our next Palms permanent location. We are the Raiders of Rice Bowls.
And we are still devoted to getting you that dank meal for a reasonable price, because we are family.
