Evan Ling was born in Taiwan and earned a Ph.D. in Metallurgy from Georgia Tech. While he started off in engineering, he found his passion in stock investments, and began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1988. He served as Resident Manager of the Merrill Lynch City of Industry office in the mid 1990s, the firm's first office of its kind that focused on serving Asian American and International clientele. He returned to focus primarily on serving clients in the early 2000s. He joined UBS in 2015.

Evan's experience, knowledge, and leadership skills led him to form the Ling Group with his son in 2003. He oversees the team’s operation, and sets the strategic focus and direction. He is a qualified Portfolio Manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, as well as model portfolios and strategies.
