It's Time to Make a Change
"Change is always possible, and a person is never too out-of-shape, overweight, or old to make healthy changes." It is that time of the year again to start thinking about things we will resolve to do differently in this New Year. It is estimated that 40-45% of Americans make New Year's resolutions but less than half of those have kept that resolution after 6 months.
Why NOT thinking of any resolutions this year but just sit down and write 1-2 goals that is related to improving your health, stamina, or weight?
Keep in mind when you start to work towards your goals:
Focus on your goal. You are making a commitment. A resolution is not wishful thinking, but an active commitment to change.
Keep track of what you're doing. Write down the activities or strategies you are using to accomplish your goal. Successful weight reduction is more likely when food and exercise journals are kept.
Think of change as a creative process. Take time to reflect on your progress. What's working? What's not working and why?
If you've tried a few times to make changes but is still getting stuck, talk to your doctor, a fitness professional, or a registered dietitian will be your best bet to learn more. Most of the time, a few tips and ideas can do wonders! Besides, to be successful in making changes, it takes more than just knowledge. It helps if you can find a buddy who really understands your needs and can motivate you to make the lifestyle changes.

如果你已經嘗試過作出改變,但仍然沒有進展,你可以諮詢你的家庭醫生、健身教練,或註冊營養師。他們的建議能讓你的目標更快達到。此外,這不僅僅增加你對健康的認識,你也能找到一個真正了解你的需要,而且能鼓勵你改變生活方式的朋友。
