The Bluthner 6 represents the ideal German piano with an appropriate size and scale design that can accommodate a broad range of repertoire. The 4th string is raised slightly above the other 3 strings and sympathetically vibrates creating a richness and additional sustain of tone in the melody register other pianos lack.

A tremendous amount of European piano repertoire from Brahms to Shostakovich were inspired by the unique and diverse tonal qualities of the Bluthner piano which has a warm, richness not found in other European pianos which tend to have a more crystalline quality. This New York Steinway was restored 5 years ago with all German Renner action (as found in Hamburg Steinway) and New York Steinway hammer heads for the meaty American sound. There is no Teflon in this piano.
