新法教育學院 - College Funding & Trends and Changes in College Admission Seminar 1/5/2019 Saturday 2 pm to 4 pm

Do you know what the trends and changes are in college admission? The early round of college admission results just came out recently, and regular decision will be released next Feb or March. UCs have become harder to get into due to the increase of applicants every year: did you know that more applicants applied for UC Irvine, San Diego, Santa Barbara than Berkeley? According to US News & World Report, UCs have very high rankings in 2019. UCLA ranks 19th nationwide, Berkeley ranks 22nd, UC Santa Barbara ranks 30th, UC Irvine ranks 33rd, UC Davis ranks 38th, UC San Diego ranks 41st. UC Santa Cruz comes at 70th, UC Riverside ranks 85th, and UC Merced ranks 136th.

 

What is the A through G requirement for UC? How can students to be competitive and stand out for UC application? Do the essays really matters? How many essays should an applicant submit when they apply for colleges? How early should parents start to prepare college funding? Is the 529 plan or Covedell the best remedy? How about using funds from a retirement account? What is the FAFSA, UGMA, UTMA? What is the similarity and difference among them? Will life insurance policy will be a good source to fund for college?
