LOST PARROT

Why “Lost Parrot?” The story goes the parrots came from Simpson's Nursery in East Pasadena on Colorado Blvd. It caught on fire in 1969. From these parrots, the Pasadena Parrots came about. Other stories claim that the parrots have migrated up from Mexico but others still state they were originally black market birds released by smugglers. This rich local history and myth is something we look to cultivate.

However these birds came to be here, they stayed for the trees. South Pasadena is one of the first Tree City's established by Arbor.org and we look to celebrate that aspect of our city with a green lush environment within our café walls.
