Metro INFINITI of Monrovia owner John Hawkins has been honored for becoming the only INFINITI dealership owner in the Los Angeles market to have succeeded in the same location for 25 years.
Hawkins is one of only 30 out of 210 active INFINITI dealership owners nationwide to have achieved such status.
“That not only shows a real commitment to INFINITI , but shows Mr. Hawkins has the people and processes in place to have lasted this long,” said George Hart, area general manager of INFINITI West Region.
Hawkins attributes his longevity to goodwill – between the dealership and its customers and with the luxury car maker.
“These guys walk on water to give us this great product. They don’t succeed unless we succeed. They want us to be happy, and we want our customers to be happy,” Hawkins said after the award presentation March 1. “We couldn’t do it without their tremendous support.”
Aside from the 60,000-mile-warranty offered to INFINITI customers, the key to Hawkins’ success, he said, is in knowing how to please his customers.
“What I’ve learned is you have to look at them in the eye and listen - really listen to what they want, how they want it, and when they want it,” Hawkins said. “And that’s hard but it’s what we do with everyone that comes in.”
