Chef Naka is originally from Hokkaido Island, which is part of the Japanese archipelago. In the early 1980s he settled in the U.S. and has spent the last 30 years honing his craft as a formidable sushi chef. Chef Naka’s reputation is built on his attention to excellence in simple, yet intricate cooking using the freshest, seasonal ingredients sourced from the U.S. and Japan. This dedicated maestro’s culinary passion is evident in the thoughtfully planned, diverse creations he composes nightly.
Kiss Seafood restaurant opened its doors in 1999 and has been providing patrons with a unique dining experience ever since. The cozy, jewel-box space seats only 12 people, which allows the Chef to give you his most dedicated attention. In turn, this intimate setting allows you to observe a master at work as he creates savory morsels infused with subtle and intense flavors for your dining pleasure. Kiss Seafood was one of the original Japanese restaurants in San Francisco to feature “Omakase” or the Chef’s special selection. This remains the restaurant’s signature dish and is popular for good reason. “Omakase” is a 5-or 6-course fixed menu featuring authentic Japanese food including sashimi and sushi.
